New centre opens in Blackwood

Wales and Blues prop John Yapp has opened Hearing Aid Solutions' new centre in George & Elworthy opticians in Blackwood
Wales Rugby International, John Yapp, made a special appearance to open a new hearing centre in opticians George & Elworthy in Blackwood on February 4.

Award winning Hearing Aid Solutions is the largest independent hearing aid centre in Wales, with centres already in Carmarthen, Swansea, Fishguard, Lampeter, Llandeilo and Haverfordwest. The new Blackwood outlet is the company’s first in south east Wales.
The centre will be open from 10am with hearing experts on hand to offer advice and live demonstrations of hearing aid technology to the public. Also available will be goody bags and free hearing aid batteries.
Prop John Yapp has14 caps making his Welsh debut in the 2005 Six Nations when the team went on to win the Grand Slam. He was also part of 2009’s Six Nations squad.
Hearing Aid Solutions is one of only 35 independent practices in the UK and the only one in Wales to have the honour of being recognised as a Centre of Excellence for its quality services, while also being a member of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP). The firm is also the only company in the UK, to be awarded commendations in the European Audiologist of the Year competition in successive years 2008/2009.
Martyn Scott said: “Hearing is such a vital sense, yet its deterioration in individuals is very hard for them to detect. Often, it is the friends and family around them who notice that their hearing is growing worse. This is why regularly undergoing hearing tests is so crucial.

“We have been looking for the perfect location to expand into south east Wales and are thrilled to finally be able to open our new store in Blackwood.
